Google Chromecasts - If implemented right it is the “holy grail” for hotels. Guests stream their personal device content to the big TV screen so they can watch their Netflix, local TV channels, HBO, Prime, Videoland, YouTube etc. But earlier this year google announced the discontinuing of the traditional Google Chromecast. F*ck you Google.
It’s made for home use not professional Although we make use of a “proxy” (which connects the in-room Chromecast to the guests device) the Google Chromecast itself remains a consumer product. Once one goes offline for some reason the Chromecast becomes a pain in the ass.
Case : Guest wants to stream his/her content, the Chromecast is not on the network anymore for whatever reason… guest goes to the reception, complains, frustrated receptionist goes to the room, resets the Chromecast, has to put it back on the network using the Google Home App. Time consuming. Shitty solution. Doens’t work.

How we deal with the discontinuing of the
traditional Google Chromecast
The Philips MediaSuite TV’s have an integrated Chromecast and Netflix Application. IRS is an official Philips PPDS system integrator, reach out to us for a consult and more information.
We install a Centralised Chromecast Solution - We connect x amount of Chromecasts to a modulator (in your equipment room) which assigns a private TV channel to the guest, in this case you only need 10% chromecasts in relation to your number of rooms.
So for example: Radisson Hotel has 240rooms so they get 24 Chromecasts in their equipment room.
