A reliable and high-speed internet connection has become a critical requirement for hotels to meet the expectations of their tech-savvy guests. Radisson Hotel Amsterdam City Center recently undertook a successful DOCSIS (Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification) installation, revolutionizing their internet infrastructure and providing guests with seamless connectivity.
To support the DOCSIS installation, Radisson Hotel Amsterdam invested in upgrading their cable TV network and associated equipment. This involved installing DOCSIS-compatible cable modems, main-modem, splitters and router.
We’ve spend 60 hours just optimising and tweaking to get the best possible performance out of the network. We had to search for components above ceilings, behind minibars and in shafts. “Persistence wins.”
TV & Chromecast Solution
Otrum TV Solution is a comprehensive and feature-rich platform. It offers hotels a centralized system to manage and deliver a wide range of content to guest room TVs. The solution supports interactive TV services, video-on-demand (VOD), digital signage, and more.
We have also implemented our Centralised Chromecast Solution. Guests can now stream their personal device content to the in-room Hotel TV. Why DOCSIS?
Previously the hotel TVs were connected to the WiFi network which is not as stable as you would want to have it. Beside stability issues, it also causes a lot of "junk" on your WiFi network. With our DOCSIS modems we have now created a high performance IPTV solution without having to rewire the whole property.
